5 Books for Every Tech Lover

5. Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything, by D. Tapscott and A.D. Williams

This book is utterly important for business owners and it highlights the huge effect of the social media on the financial factor of many companies in the world. A basic line from this book is this  one “the more your company lets outsiders in, or even turns the company over to the masses, the more new ideas are generated, the more new products are developed, and the more problems are solved.”

4. The Future of the Internet And How to Stop It, by Jonathan Zittrain

“The most compelling book ever written on why a transformative technology”s trajectory threatens to stifle that technology”s greatest promise for society. Zittrain offers convincing road maps for redeeming that promise.” The books speaks about the Internet having a “bad” ending if we’re not going to influence it for the good of society.
A good example that I can think of is how Twitter helped people report from Egyptian riots. The books comprises in 352 pages information from the start of the Internet and the author tries to predict what could the Internet transform into if we will not be able to control it.

3. Code and Other Laws of Cyberspace, by Lawrence Lessig

Seems like a heavy tech book at first, but as you read the first pages you realize the genius of the author and how did he make it readable for everybody. One could view this book as a sci-fi one, as the author suggests that governments could change the “code” of the Internet and make it controllable. It’s another book about the Internet, but, this author tries to prove that the Internet could be the key for us to restart the democratic process that seems lost. A wonderful book that combines Internet – the juice of technology with a futuristic view of the political aspect of the World.

2. The Control Revolution: Technological and Economic Origins of the Information Society, by James Beniger

It’s all about information, James Beniger suggests. From the very first wheel that humans made until 3D processors, it’s all about information. Beniger argues that information has been used by society to control production, that’s what made possible the big transition from the feudal society into the industrialized one, when people, using information shaped into machines and factories, could control production, thus feeding the needs of the entire society. It’s a must-read in your library.

1. The Time Machine, by H.G. Wells

My personal no.1 is this awesome written book by the genius of sci-fi, Herbert Wells. Why The Time Machine? Because traveling in time has been the biggest dream for humanity, a possibility that we were talking about since childhood. It will remain a wonderfully written book, ready to make you dream and get lost in webs of desire. It will make you wanna go back and see how big the dinos were and see how will humanity look like one hundred years from now.

What Things need To Consider When U Selecting A VPN Service

What Things need To Consider When U Selecting A VPN Service? It can be difficult to select a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. There are many things that have to be considered, but it usually comes down to a matter of personal preference. Here are some things to consider when selecting a VPN service.
Customer service should be considered. The basic standard, as is the case with businesses that sell goods or services on the Internet, is live chat. Some of the best VPN services can immediately answer all of your questions. Should they happen to be offline, they’ll usually get back to you no later than the next day. There are some VPN services that don’t offer live chat. However, they will get back to you very quickly and are very exact in their response.
Another consideration is ease of use. If you don’t happen to be a computer geek you may not understand by the SSL and PPTP options on some websites. The easier the VPN service is to use the better. There are all kinds of VPN service websites available and some are easier to use than others.
Some VPN services will try to convince you to select them because they have servers in different counties. This really makes no difference. All you need to be able to do is browse anonymously, and it doesn’t matter if the server is in the US, the UK or Germany. There are times when a pop up advertisement will be displayed in a different language. However, it is important to know how many times you can switch IP’s. There are some less expensive VPN services that will limit the number of switches that you can make each month. These services will oftentimes have slow servers. You should select a VPN service that permits you to make an unlimited number of switches in numerous different countries.
Some VPN services offer a money back guarantee. Some offer a trial period for anywhere from a week to just a few hours. You should try one out for a few days and determine if you like it. You are protected with a money back guarantee because there are times when the service isn’t what you expected or the interface is confusing.
Price is maybe the most important part of selecting a VPN service. The price will range anywhere from between sixty and three dollars per month. This will depend of the features that you select. Usually you can get a great VPN service for approximately ten dollars per month. For ten dollars per month you should get your choice the kind if device that you can use, such as a PC, Mac, or mobile, an unlimited number of switches, and money back guarantee.
You should do price comparisons and read reviews of some of the popular VPN services because it’s important to get a good one that will keep you safe on the Internet. There are VPN’s in China that protect users from censorship on the Internet. This VPN service can be used anywhere and will protect your sensitive and private information.

Watch NBA Finals 2011 Live Online

After all the tough battles in the NBA Playoffs, the top 2 teams will be facing each other during the best of 7 NBA Finals 2011. None of the teams from last year’s finals will be there, rather, Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heats will be fighting it out in this year’s finals.
According to Bodog, the Miami Heat have the odds in their favor heading into the 2011 NBA Finals opposite the Dallas Mavericks. The vagaries of the NBA Finals schedule, the league uses a 2-3-2 format, with Game 5 in the lower seed’s home arena (Dallas, in this case) and Games 6 and 7 back in the high seed’s gym (Miami) — impact the odds a bit.
Heats are riding high after signing up LeBron James last year. Dallas Mavericks too aren’t any pushovers with many of their players in top form in recent games. The Dallas vs Heats NBA Finals will kick off tonight at 9PM ET. The second game is on June 2 2011. Both the games will be in Miami. The third and fourth games will be played at Dallas on June 5th and June 7th.
